Two people were hospitalized after a boat burst into flames on Lake Erie Friday. Frenchtown Township fire crews responded to the lake's Brest Bay Marina for a water rescue around 2:30 p.m. Firefighters were able to put out the fire and rescue all five people off the boat. Officials say a 60-year-old man was treated for burns to his body, and a 54-year-old woman was treated for medical issues. Both were taken to a local hospital. Another adult and two teenagers were not injured in the fire, according to officials. Crews were able to resolve the situation within about two hours. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
