The Grand Blanc Township Fire Department has packed up and moved out of what is now the City Station for the new Grand Blanc Fire Department on Friday, July 12.
The township fire department was notified by the city of Grand Blanc about 90 days ago that they would be creating their own fire department and the township would need to move out of Station 1.
“The township has redone our #2 Station which is now our Township #1 Station for living quarters. That was done actually today,” Grand Blanc Township Fire Chief Robert Burdette said. “So we’ve gotta move, so we’re just gonna go ahead. It’s about a week before schedule, but that’s fine.
As of July 24 at midnight, the Grand Blanc Township Fire Department will cease responding to incidents within the city and the city fire department is to respond, Burdette said.
