Crews are looking into the cause of a semi-truck fire that shut down a portion of I-94 in Battle Creek early Thursday morning.
Battle Creek firefighters were dispatched to eastbound I-94 near M-66 around 4:15 a.m. and found a fire in the front area of the trailer.
The driver said he noticed sparked coming from the trailer, pulled over, and safely got out before the fire started.
They quickly extinguished the blaze and both eastbound lanes were shut down for about 45 minutes.
No injuries were reported and an investigation into what started the fire is underway.
