The city’s full-time ambulance service is proving to be a revenue generator six months into the new system.
The service is run by Adrian Fire Department where the staff is cross-trained as firefighters and paramedics.
Fire chief Aric Massingill presented to the Adrian City Commission the latest numbers regarding the ambulance service at a premeeting Monday.
Average monthly revenue is $66,429.27, he said. Estimated yearly revenue is $794,970, which has increased from the department’s annual revenue estimate in May that was $773,070.
Compared to its yearly budget, ambulance services are set to bring in about $40,000 in net revenue for the department.
“We’re right on track, right where we want to be ... where we thought we would be,” Massingill said.
