Local first responders will be conducting an 'active killer' training at Port Huron's Crull Elementary, 2615 Hancock St., and the Port Huron School Early Childhood Center, 2400 Garfield St., Saturday.
During the training event from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be a large contingent of first responder vehicles and personnel at each location, according to a press release from the Port Huron Police Department.
Officials from Port Huron police and fire departments, the Michigan State Police, U.S. Border Patrol, Tri-Hospital EMS, Port Huron Schools, central dispatch and the county homeland security and emergency management will be participating.
"First responders are welcome to train in our buildings and we thank the Port Huron Police Department for writing this grant to pay for it," Theo Kerhoulas, the district's executive director said in a statement.
