The improper use of an electrical cord is being listed as the probable cause of a Sunday morning fire at 102 South Jefferson. The fire at the Fawaz Aboaly residence was reported at 4:16 a.m.. Coldwater Fire Marshall Steve Trall says firefighters found flames coming from a first story window when the first unit arrived. It was reported that the occupants had exited the residence through a second story window. Off duty crews also responded and the fire at the two story home was called under control at 4:27 a.m.. The total damage was estimated at $15,000 with the heaviest damage in a first story family room. No injuries were reported and firefighters were on the scene until 5:36 a.m..
