A woman and child were injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash in rural Sanilac County. Sanilac Central Dispatch received a call shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29 about the crash on Maple Valley Road near Stiles Road in Flynn Township, southeast of Marlette. The initial investigation has determined that a 2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat operated by a 30-year-old Hale woman was headed north on Maple Valley Road when the vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch on the east side of the road, per a statement from the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle then jumped an embankment and rolled several times before it came to rest in a field. The driver and one passenger, a 9-year-old Hale girl, were transported by Marlette EMS to Marlette Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries, police said. The 9-year-old girl was later transferred to Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. The 30-year-old woman was transferred by FlightCare of Michigan to Hurley Medical Center in Flint.
