A fire Tuesday, Sept. 15, damaged a two-story home on Mills Street. Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded around 7:05 p.m. to a report of a house fire in the 1000 block of Mills Street. They found smoke and flames coming from the back of the home. Firefighters entered the home and saw fire on the first and second floors in the rear of the house. They brought the fire under control within 25 minutes and were on scene for about an hour. No one was home when firefighters reached the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
