Add one more location to get a COVID-19 vaccination in southwest Oakland County. Vaccinations will begin to take place for people in Phase 1A of the state's vaccination group next week, said Police Chief David Molloy, who also serves as the City of Novi's public safety director. Molloy said Oakland County reached out to the city in search of a space to offer vaccinations, with Fire Station No. 4 at 49375 10 Mile being the best space to offer. In addition to its convenient location at 10 Mile and Wixom roads not far off Interstate 96, it has room for enough vehicles to line up and space for the monitoring period required after recipients get the shot, Molloy said. Those who receive the vaccine are required to wait onsite for 15 minutes after receipt to make sure there are no negative side effects.
