PHOTOS: Six fire departments rushed to the scene of another house fire in Monroe Township, the fourth in the community this month. No one was injured and the pets apparently escaped the smoke and flames that destroyed the house on Hull Road between Albain Road and Juniper Trail. A family lived at the house and were away when the call came in around 10:35 a.m. Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mark Cherney said the fire ignited at the roof line toward the rear of the home, in the face of a strong wind. The flames quickly spread. "It took off from there," Cherney said, adding that the cause of the blaze is unknown at this time. The fire engulfed the upper floor of the two-story, sided house. The roof eventually caved in.
