Authorities said a semi truck driver is dead after he was discovered with no pulse on Tuesday evening in an 18-wheeler on I-75 in southwest Detroit. Michigan State Police said troopers were first dispatched to the freeway near Schafer Highway around 6:45 p.m. after multiple calls reported a semi truck blocking the left lane of I-75.
Upon arrival, troopers found the driver, a 30-year-old man from Taylor, without out a pulse. Troopers requested assistance from EMS personnel and administered Narcan in an attempt to revive the driver, but it was ineffective.
Officers then began CPR and used an AED, but these measures were also ineffective. Troopers continued chest compressions until medics arrived on scene and took over.
