No one was injured after a fire occurred at an apartment complex Saturday night in Battle Creek, according to the city.
Firefighters from the Battle Creek Fire Department were dispatched to 111 West Street near the Bearcat Football Stadium around 10:22 p.m. for a report of a fire, authorities said.
Once on scene, crews found that the fire was coming from a vent fan in a first-floor apartment.
To gain access to the flames, firefighters pulled drywall from the ceiling and breached the second floor.
Crews were able to quickly get the fire under control, authorities said.
Investigators believe an electrical shortage caused the fire.
Three apartments were damaged, but no one was injured. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist displaced residents.
