No one was injured in a fire in a two-story apartment house on Sunday evening in Grand Rapids. Grand Rapids Firefighters Local 366 posted on Facebook around 6 p.m. and said the fire was in a home in the 400 block of Pettibone Avenue NW. According to the Grand Rapids Fire Department, when crews arrived they found the porch fully engulfed in flames. Due to the wind, the fire spread to the first floor, second floor and the attic. However, the department said crews were able to put out the fire before it spread to the back of the house. According to GRFD, a family member came home and spotted the fire, alerting the adult and child who were in the home. Everyone was able to get out safely before fire crews arrived. Crews also got a dog out of the house safely by a ladder from the second floor.
