PHOTO: Five firefighters who suffered minor injuries when the fire truck they were in was itself involved in a crash while responding to an emergency on I-75 are OK, fire officials said Wednesday, March 20.
“We’d like to take a moment and thank everyone on their prayers following this morning’s accident on I-75,” the Mt. Morris Fire Department wrote in a message on Facebook. “As an update, all 5 firefighters involved suffered some knocks, but are ok. We will still continue to give prayers of thanks in this incident, and wish there firefighters and their families well.”
The firefighters were responding to one of several crashes reported on I-75 Wednesday morning. Overnight snow and decreased temperatures caused icy conditions that led to more than a dozen active incidents across Genesee County, according to central dispatch.
