An abandoned home in Pitt County has been deemed a total loss after an early morning fire. Firefighters were called to an abandoned home on Simpson Street near Tucker Rd. in Simpson around 5:30am Friday. No one lives at the house and first responders say electricity wasn't turned on and that the house was previously condemned by the city of Simpson. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
