VIDEO: The death of longtime Atlantic Beach Fire Chief Adam Snyder was felt well beyond the firefighting profession he loved and the community he served. If Snyder wasn’t on a fire call with his department there, was a good chance he was conducting training for firefighters around Eastern North Carolina and beyond. And his professionalism on the job showed. “He always took things to the next level,” said Onslow County Fire Marshal Brian Kelly. Kelly said he first got to know Snyder about 10 years ago when he was teaching a class and he has likewise been a student in classes during which Snyder was instructor. What he’ll always remember is Snyder’s desire to make sure each firefighter he instructed was well prepared to put what they learned in the classroom into action, Kelly said.
