Fire officials are working to confirm the cause of a four-alarm fire that destroyed the maintenance building at Jackson Farming Company in the 3100 block of Ernest Williams Road Sunday morning. The fire was reported shortly after 6 a.m. and more than 70 firefighters as well as emergency personnel from other agencies in surrounding counties responded. Authorities say no farm chemicals were involved in the fire and no one was injured. The maintenance building contained farming equipment including a pickup, tractor, spreader, hauler, several forklifts, equipment parts and approximately 1,000 gallons of motor oil. It took firefighters three hours to bring the fire under control. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
