36-year-old James Adam Woodside of Abner Road in Stony Point was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff's Officers. He's charged with felony burning of certain buildings and misdemeanor breaking and entering. Last Thursday (February 6) at 3:49 a.m., Iredell County Emergency Communications received a call in reference to a structure fire at an address on Abner Road in Stony Point. Once the fire was extinguished, the Iredell County Fire Marshal’s Office conducted an investigation to determine the origin of the fire. They quickly determined that the fire was set intentionally, and requested the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office to respond to the scene. Detectives determined that the residence has been unoccupied for some time. They notified the owner of the property, who lives in Charlotte, about the situation. They verified with the property owner that no one should have been inside the home or on the property.
