A car crashed after running off the road and into the woods in Durham on Friday morning, according to officials. Authorities closed off Academy Road between Cranford and Duke University roads in Durham to get the injured person out of the vehicle. The Durham Fire Department was working at the scene as of 6:30 a.m. Officials are expected the road to be closed for another hour after. The injuries to the person in the vehicle are non-life threatening, authorities said. WRAL's Brian Shrader said that if you are traveling in that area, you should avoid using NC Highway 751, and instead consider traveling on Chapel Hill Road.
