Chapel Hill firefighters rescue man stranded in tree 40 feet above ground

Firefighters rescued a man stranded in a tree Monday evening. Around 5:30 p.m., the Chapel Hill Fire Department responded to a neighborhood off the Weaver Dairy Road Extension to rescue a man who became stuck while cutting a tree on Palafox Drive. Firefighters said the man was about 40 feet above the ground when part of the tree gave way and he could not get down. Firefighters reached him and carefully guided him to safety.
