An arsonist was arrested after he set a home on fire, deputies said. On Sunday, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a structure fire on West Main Street. The Franklinville Fire Department responded to fight the fire. Witnesses told deputies that a Hispanic man, wearing a red shirt, had approached the home while carrying a gas can. He then reportedly set the home on fire. Deputies identified the suspect as Evelio Pinales, 55. Pinales was located at his residence and arrested. He is being charged with felony second-degree arson. Pinales was issued a $50,000 bond.
