The Foscoe Fire Department contained a fire that escaped due to debris burning on Monday. According to Watauga County Forest Ranger Andrew Harsey, the fire was about an acre in size in total. "Foscoe Fire got a good knock down on it and (had a) good plan implemented to contain the fire," Harsey said. "It was pretty well contained when Forest Service got there. We helped burn out some and mop up. Very thankful for their quick response and action on getting it under control. Foscoe is a great department and has a very challenging and rugged district for wildfire. Very steep and rocky with a lot of urban interface. They are a great group of firefighters to work with."
