At around 11 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, the Wrightsville Beach Fire and Police departments responded to a fire alarm call in reference to a home on Auditorium Circle, according to a release from the WBPD.
“They confirmed the house was on fire and the occupants had escaped to safety. Units from the Wilmington Fire Department and the New Hanover County Fire Department responded to assist and the fire was extinguished,” states the release.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Authorities ask anyone with information to contact New Hanover County Deputy Fire Marshal S. Batson. “It appears from the early evidence that the homeowners were alerted to the potential danger by a functioning fire alarm,” the release continues.
