The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man after a home belonging to his family was set on fire over the weekend. Around 11:19 p.m. on Saturday, deputies said they responded to the house fire in the 3700 block of South River Road. Investigators with the sheriff’s office determined that Aaron Jovon Robinson, 36 of New York, had “set the fire in the home by using lighter fluid” while other family members were in bed. Deputies said everyone was able to safety exit the burning home and call 911. Robinson had left the scene but was later arrested and taken into custody with no bond. He is charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of first degree arson. Investigators said that Robinson was visiting his sister and her family in the home, a property in the family that was recently sold. They said the two siblings argued just hours before the fire regarding the sale of the home.
