Two men killed in fire at Moore County home

VIDEO: Two men were killed early Monday in a fire in Moore County. After midnight, firefighters responded to a fire at a mobile home in the 1400 block of Union Church Road, near Carthage. A person driving by reportedly saw the fire and called 911. According to Carthage Fire Chief Brian Tyner, once firefighters were able to knock down the flames, two victims were found. The home was completely destroyed. Union Church Road was blocked for longer than five hours due to the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Multiple agencies responded, including Carthage Fire & Rescue, Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Whispering Pines Fire Rescue, Eastwood Fire Department, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Public Safety, the Moore County Sheriff's Office and the Carthage Police Department.
