Three people have been displaced after escaping a house fire that broke out in Raleigh early Wednesday morning. Units from the Raleigh Fire Department responded to a structure fire call in the 1400 block of Lofton Place off Sanderford Road just after 4 a.m. According to the battalion chief, the blaze “gutted” the inside of the home, and firefighters had to tear into some of the home’s walls to make sure there weren’t pockets of fire inside. A couple of vehicles also caught on fire, according to the department. In addition to several units from the fire department, a CBS 17 crew on scene also saw EMS and Raleigh police at the location early Wednesday morning.
