PHOTOS: Fire crews have been on the scene of a fully involved structure fire in Maggie Valley since about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16.
Maggie Valley Fire and Rescue told News 13 just after 7 p.m. that crews were working a structure on Black Camp Gap Road, but officials said they could not elaborate on details beyond that.
A couple who lives near the structure fire, which is a log cabin, spoke with News 13 Saturday night. They explained that the location of the cabin was difficult to reach. Charlie Bigham, who lives on Mashstomp Road about a mile from the fire, said he had seen crews on the scene for several hours fighting the fire. In a video taken by Bigham during daylight, the log cabin can be seen fully engulfed in flames, with the fire stretching well above the top of the structure.
