VIDEO: Firefighters extinguished a large fire at an abandoned apartment complex in northeast Charlotte early Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported just after 1 a.m. at the Dillehay Court apartments off of West 28th Street, the Charlotte Fire Department said.
When firefighters arrived, they were met with flames coming from one of the buildings. It took about 35 minutes to control the blaze.
Nobody was hurt in the fire and its cause is under investigation. The complex is owned by Inlivian, the City of Charlotte’s housing authority, and is more than 50 years old. The apartments have not been rented out for a few years.
Most of the damage was contained to one building.
