VIDEO: Duke Energy said firefighters are currently working to find out what caused a fire at Belews Creek Steam Station. The Belews Creek Fire Department said they responded to the fire on Pine Hall Road around 2:30 p.m. Both Duke Energy and fire officials confirm the fire started in a warehouse that holds electrical equipment. Firefighters said high winds made the fire spread into the surrounding woods. The warehouse is around 300-400 yards away from the main energy plant, and firefighters said it had "quite a bit of damage." Duke Energy said all employees are safe and work operations have not been impacted. Fire officials said at last check, about 50 acres were contained.
