PHOTOS: A land clearing vehicle caught fire on Wednesday, according to the New Hope Fire Department (NHVFD) and the Gaston County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Services (GCOEMFS).
Officials say the fire happened in a wooded area near Valleydale Drive and Fallingwood Circle just before 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This is close to Beaty Road and just outside Gastonia city limits. According to firefighters, they arrived to find a piece of land-clearing equipment engulfed in flames. Because the area where the fire happened was difficult to get to, crews from other agencies were requested. The fire was contained; however, it is unclear how much damage occurred.
