A family of four was displaced from their Raleigh home after a fire caused by a malfunctioning lithium battery Sunday afternoon, officials said. The blaze was reported around 12:10 p.m. at 539 Guilford Circle in the Five Points area between Anderson Drive and East Whitaker Mill Road. According to Raleigh Fire Battalion Chief Robert Hodge, the fire at the home was still active but was under control by 12:35 p.m. The fire in The Oaks At Fallon Park neighborhood was completely out by 1 p.m. There were no injuries reported in the fire, Hodge said, but the family of two adults and two children were displaced from the house. The fire began with a lithium battery in a bicycle in the garage area of the home, Hodge said. He said that 35 firefighters responded to the scene.
