The Laurinburg Fire Dept. accepted 54 smoke alarms on Monday morning, which firefighters will distribute to those in need. The alarms will be placed in homes on a first-come-first-serve basis. The department said about the initiative, "Smoke alarms save lives and we will continue the effort to make sure everyone in our fire district has them in the home." To get on the list for an alarm, call the department at 910-276-1811. The alarms were provided by North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal partnered with State Farm Insurance.
