In the aftermath of strong storms, which left many without power and one person dead in Gaston County, a lightning strike sparked a house fire, according to the Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue. Firefighters say the lightning strike caused a garage to catch fire. The blaze was controlled in about 25 minutes. No one was in the home at the time. The Davidson Fire Department’s Station 1 and Huntersville Fire Department’s Station 2 also responded.
