A Northeast Nebraska family is without a home after a fire over the New Year's holiday. The Wakefield Fire Department was called to the house fire on West First Street after reports of an electrical fire around 6:30 New Year's night. The fire was quickly put out with little damage, but re-ignited the next morning, fully engulfing the house. Everyone in the home at the time of both fires was able to get out safely. A GoFundMe has been set up for the family. The home was completely destroyed.
