Loads of snow is annoying for everybody. For first responders who don’t stop receiving calls to save lives, it's especially tough. Captain Josh Neville with Papillion Fire said the snow led to a busy morning. Because of the snow, his crew had to go a bit slower to make sure they accomplished what they needed to. If they have to battle a structure fire, everything is more difficult. "Walking through the snow — if the snow is six inches, a foot — you got to plow through the snow with your heavy turnout gear,” he said. “That's more of a challenge, and again, we're carrying heavy equipment —ladders, saws — plus we're dragging our hoses in there." When responding to emergency medical calls, Neville also said they have one firefighter lead the way. That firefighter's only job is to shovel and clear snow.
