VIDEO/PHOTO: Firefighters were battling a grass fire that appears to have started south of Peru boat dock along the Missouri River. Nemaha firefighters were called for mutual aid at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday north of the boat dock road at Peru. There were three units dispatched using 732 Road and taking the Steamboat Trace Trail north. At 3 p.m. Auburn fire was called for mutual aid for a 646A Avenue residence for structure protection. Brock Julian Fire Department was called for mutual aid shortly after. Grass rigs and a tanker were also requested from Nebraska City.
