Firefighters put out an exterior fire on a home in north Lincoln on Tuesday.
Crews were called to a home near Colfax Avenue and 44th Street around 2:45 p.m. on report of a confirmed structure fire.
First responders quickly extinguished the fire, according to a spokeswoman with Lincoln Fire and Rescue. The fire was mostly contained to the home’s siding, but it eventually spread to a portion of the attic.
Despite that, crews said the damage to the home was minimal. Total damages to the home have yet to be confirmed.
A battalion chief on scene said that a discarded cigarette was to blame for the fire. No injuries were reported.
According to LFR, the house’s exterior sustained $12,000 in damage. Nothing inside the house sustained damage.
