Omaha firefighters put out vacant house fire near Fontenelle Park

About $46,500 of damage was done to a vacant house in North Omaha after a fire early Wednesday morning. According to the Omaha Fire Department, crews were called to the area of 48th Street and Fowler Avenue at around 2:45 a.m. The original call was for a trash fire, but crews noticed smoke coming from the house, and a help wanted call was declared. It took crews about 20 minutes to put the fire out. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
