On Tuesday evening, the North Platte Fire Department officially presented its 2023 Annual Report to the North Platte City Council. The report is compiled by the North Platte Fire Department’s administration and summarizes activities and reports for the year. Longtime Fire Chief Dennis Thompson said the 2023 report sees a continuing trend of increasing call volume. ”We continue to see our call volume climb year after year it seems. This year we saw a total of 4130 calls which is up 164 calls from the last report. The majority of those calls are ambulance or EMS related that is probably over 80 percent of what we do as a fire department,” said Chief Thompson. Chief Thompson stressed that there is a level of efficiency in how the City of North Platte delivers vital emergency services.
