PHOTO: The Nebraska State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire northeast of Ainsworth, Nebraska that destroyed a house, according to Ainsworth Fire Chief Brad Fiala.
Fiala said the house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene around 8 p.m. Saturday night. The house was located around six miles north and two miles east of Ainsworth.
No one was inside the house at the time of the fire, but a dog that was in the garage died.
It took firefighters from Ainsworth, Long Pine, Bassett and Raven more than four hours to extinguish the fire.
