A fire has destroyed several row houses near the New York state governor's mansion in Albany. Fire Chief Joseph Gregory tells the Times Union that the fire broke out on Myrtle Avenue at 11:45 p.m. Thursday. Gregory says two people were taken to a hospital for evaluation but there are no reports of injuries. The buildings that were destroyed are a block and a half from the Executive Mansion. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials say the blaze destroyed five buildings and left more than 30 people homeless. It was declared under control at around 4 a.m. Friday.
