Bill Bellis knew all he could do was wait for firefighters to arrive to the fatal overnight fire that killed a father and two of his daughters on Myrtle Avenue. Mr. Bellis, who lives directly across the street from 906 Myrtle Ave., was awakened by a teenage girl pounding on his front door at about 1:30 a.m. needing help. She had escaped the blaze that had engulfed her home, where she, her father and four siblings lived. Two other children survived the deadly blaze that was called in at about 1:30 a.m. today. They were taken to Upstate Medical University. Their names have not been released. Fire Chief Dale C. Herman said from the scene that he did not know their conditions. With the girl probably in shock, Mr. Bellis’ wife, Jackie, said they called 911 on their land line. She doesn’t know how the girl was awakened or how she got out of the house.
