A two-alarm fire ripped through the Baumann & Sons Bus Corporation in Yorktown Heights on Wednesday evening. The blaze destroyed one bus, damaged two others and damaged the company's garage at 1701 Front St., the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department said in a Facebook post overnight. The company serves local schools, including the Yorktown school district, which said it would be opening Thursday and that Baumann drivers should report to the depot at their regular time. "Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the fire at Baumann," Yorktown Superintendent of Schools Ron Hattar tweeted on Wednesday night. "So grateful to the first responders of Yorktown!" The fire was reported at 5:09 p.m. Flames were contained to a bus repair section of the garage and knocked down by 6 p.m.
