2 firefighters hurt battling Clayton brush fire

Two volunteer firefighters were hurt battling an outdoor brush fire in the town of Clayton Thursday night. State police Sgt. Dominic Doldo tells 7 News the two firefighters were transported to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown with non-life-threatening injuries. Doldo says one suffered a leg injury while the other had an upper body injury. No word yet on which fire department they volunteer for. Crews were fighting flames at 34926 State Route 12. Police say it started as a controlled burn that got out of hand. State police and the Department of Environmental Conservation are investigating.
