PHOTOS: A fire during which there were explosions damaged a house on Hillcrest Avenue, the Hurley Fire Department said Wednesday.
There were no reported injuries in blaze, which broke out about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The fire department said on its Facebook page that there were flames at the back of the house and explosions occurring when firefighters arrived at 219 Hillcrest Ave. There was no immediate word about what caused the explosions. A second alarm brought out the Ulster Hose and Spring Lake fire departments, and the city of Kingston Fire Department's Fast Team and the Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit also responded, the Hurley department said.
Some firefighters battled the blaze at the rear of the house, while others took a water line into the house through the front door and went into a basement stairwell.
