Gloversville fire captain, girlfriend in Albany Med after being hit by alleged drunk driver

A long time volunteer with the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department and captain of the Gloversville fire department, Brandon Lehr, and his girlfriend Rachel Ortega were airlifted to Albany Medical Center with severe injuries after getting hit on their motorcycle by a drunk driver on Friday. According to a press release, at approximately 10:19 p.m., the Fulton County Communications Center received a call for a reported car and motorcycle accident at the intersection of state Route 30A and County Highway154 in the town of Mayfield. Upon arrival, Fulton County sheriff’s deputies located the motorcycle on state Route 30A with significant damage, and Lehr and Ortega were laying in the roadway after being ejected from the motorcycle with severe injuries. The two were airlifted to Albany Medical Center from the scene by LifeNet to be treated for their injuries.
