Two people were treated after a fire at the Gateway Senior Independent Living facility in Gates. Firefighters received a call just before 7 p.m. Wednesday for an automatic fire alarm after a small fire in one of the apartments. Firefighters found a fire in the kitchen and were able to extinguish quickly. One resident was taken to the hospital for treatment and another was treated at the scene. Investigators say the fire was an accident and caused by cooking. The resident is displaced from their apartment.
