One person has been taken to the hospital for treatment following a second-alarm fire in Brockport. The call for the home on Spring Street came in at 7:40 p.m. The first crew on scene faced heavy smoke and flames from the first floor, according to Brockport Fire District Public Information Officer Christopher Martin. A second alarm was declared just before 8:30 p.m. and surrounding departments responded. "Your first goal is to make sure nobody is inside and nobody's injured and then your second goal is to extinguish the fire," he said. The person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. It is unclear at this time how much the residence was damaged. Spring Street is expected to be close for several hours. Martin said the cause is under investigation.
