There was a rescue effort Monday morning on Lake George after a fisherman fell through the ice near Bolton Landing. The calls for this came in just after 8 a.m. after a man was spotted falling though the ice on a public environmental camera overlooking the lake. A marine rescue was activated and several nearby agencies responded. Once crews got to the scene, it took them a few minutes to find the spot and rescue the man in his 50s who fell through. That man was taken to Glens Falls Hospital in stable condition. The captain of Bolton Emergency Medical Services says a second person had tried to rescue the man, and got wet while trying to do so. He was treated at the scene and released. While the captain says that they typically respond to one or two ice water rescues a year, this is an important reminder for people who are thinking about going on the ice.
