VIDEO: Seven firefighters were injured while battling a four-alarm fire that impacted multiple buildings in Bensonhurst on Tuesday afternoon, according to the FDNY. Fire officials say that the fire started just after 1 p.m. at 2050 71st St. between 20th and 21st avenues. The fire started on the first floor and made its way to the second floor. It was raised to a four-alarm fire just before 3 p.m. The FDNY says that seven firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the flames. Multiple buildings were affected and four families were displaced by the fire. Officials say there is extensive damages to both buildings. City Council Member Susan Zhuang tells News 12 she is actively working with the families who were impacted. The Red Cross is working with those impacted by the fire to provide emergency resources.
